Frequently asked questions

General questions

What is Family Bridge?

Family Bridge is a co-parenting app for separated or divorced parents, developed by Deepyze. It brings together messaging between parents, a shared calendar and custody schedule, exchanges, expenses and child support, children's information and their documents in one place. It's available for iPhone and as a web app at familybridge.app.

Is Family Bridge free?

Yes. The free plan never expires and includes unlimited text messaging, 1 child, 20 events and 10 expenses per month, 3 documents, 3 safe locations and the predefined custody patterns. Family Bridge Pro costs US$39.99 per year with a 7-day free trial, or US$5.99 per month with a 3-day trial; prices may vary by country. More on Pricing.

What does Family Bridge Pro include?

Pro removes the limits (unlimited children, events, expenses, documents and places) and adds chat attachments, the FamilyBot AI assistant with tone check and parenting-plan drafting, PDF export of conversations and reports, ICS calendar export and import, advanced custody patterns, GPS-tracked exchanges with photo and signature verification, expense receipts, the full financial dashboard, child-support management with receipts and disputes, and document sharing with the co-parent. Compare plans on Pricing.

Which devices can I use Family Bridge on?

On iPhone, with the app from the App Store, and on any computer, tablet or phone through the web app at familybridge.app. You use the same account on both, and your information is stored in your account, so you see the same thing on every device.

Does Family Bridge work on Android?

There's no native Android app yet. On an Android phone you can use Family Bridge in the browser through the web app at familybridge.app with the same account, so one parent can use an iPhone and the other an Android phone.

Which languages is Family Bridge available in?

The app is available in Spanish, English, Portuguese (Brazil) and French. Each parent picks their language in Profile > Language, so you can each use a different one.

Is the platform secure?

Your account is protected by your password (or Sign in with Apple on iPhone), and shared information is only visible to the co-parents you've linked. You can block and report users, and on iPhone you can turn on Face ID lock. How your data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.

How do I invite the other co-parent?

From Profile > Co-parents > Invite co-parent you send an email invitation, or you share the 6-digit code generated from your child's profile with Link co-parent. Invitations are free and unlimited. Step by step: How to invite the other parent.

Can I export conversations and reports?

Yes. With Family Bridge Pro you can export conversations and reports (general, school, messaging, financial and calendar) to PDF, and export the calendar in ICS format. Keep in mind that each person can edit or delete their own messages.

Account and subscription

How do I change my subscription plan?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store: on your iPhone go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Family Bridge, or in the app go to Profile > My Subscription > Manage subscription. There you can switch between monthly and annual, and Apple applies the change according to its billing rules.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, with no penalties. Cancel on your iPhone from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions at least 24 hours before renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Cancelling Pro doesn't delete your account or your information: you go back to the free plan and keep your history of messages, events, expenses and documents. From then on, the free plan limits apply to creating new items. If you want your data deleted, you need to delete your account.

Do you offer discounts for large families?

There are no discounts based on the number of children because they aren't needed: Family Bridge Pro includes unlimited children for the same price. The annual plan (US$39.99) saves about 44% compared with paying 12 months of the monthly plan.

How do I update my billing information?

Billing is handled by Apple through the App Store, so you change your payment method in your Apple account settings on your iPhone (Settings > [your name]). Apple also sends the purchase receipts.

Does the other parent have to pay too?

No. Each parent has their own account and their own plan: both can use Family Bridge for free and link up without paying, and each decides whether to upgrade to Pro. Responding, such as approving expenses, confirming child-support payments or accepting exchanges, is free for everyone.

Technical support

I can't access my account

Tap Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a code to set a new password. Also check that you're using the email you signed up with or, if you signed up with Apple, the Sign in with Apple button. More fixes in Trouble signing in.

The app closes unexpectedly

Update Family Bridge to the latest version from the App Store and restart your iPhone. If it keeps happening, write to info@familybridge.app with your iPhone model, iOS version and what you were doing; in the meantime you can use the web app at familybridge.app.

I'm not receiving notifications

Check Profile > Notification settings in the app (main switch, groups and quiet hours) and your iPhone permissions in Settings > Notifications > Family Bridge. If emails are missing, check your spam folder. Full guide: Not receiving notifications.

Messages aren't sending properly

Check your internet connection and reopen the conversation. If the problem is an attachment, remember each file can be up to 25 MB and attachments are a Pro feature. If the conversation shows a moderation notice, it may be temporarily paused.

How do I sync data between devices?

You don't have to do anything: your information is stored in your account and appears on your iPhone and in the web app when you sign in with the same account. Messages arrive in real time; if something doesn't show up, close and reopen the section or reload the page.

Privacy and security

Who can see my conversations?

Only the participants of each conversation, meaning the linked co-parents you added when you created it. You can block or report a participant from the conversation itself. How data is handled is detailed in the Privacy Policy.

How do you protect my personal data?

Your children's information is only visible to the co-parents you link, and your documents stay private unless you choose to share them. You sign in with your password or with Sign in with Apple, and you can delete your account whenever you want. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Can I delete my account completely?

Yes. Go to Profile > Delete account and confirm twice: your account and your data are permanently deleted, and this can't be undone. If you have Pro, also cancel the subscription in the App Store, because deleting your account doesn't cancel it. It's a good idea to let the other parent know first.

Does Family Bridge sell my data to third parties?

Family Bridge is funded by the Pro subscription. What data is collected, what it's used for and which providers it's shared with is detailed in the Privacy Policy; if you have questions, write to info@familybridge.app.

Does Family Bridge have two-factor authentication?

Not at the moment. To protect your account, use a long, unique password, consider a password manager and, on iPhone, sign in with Apple and turn on Face ID lock in Profile.
