Split expenses fairly

How to split expenses 50/50, by percentage or 100% in Family Bridge, see the balance between both parents and record child support.

Every expense states how it's split. Family Bridge adds everything up and shows the balance between both parents, so nobody has to keep separate accounts.

Split options

  • 50/50: each parent pays half.
  • Custom: a slider sets the percentage paid by the person who creates the expense. Use it if you agreed to split according to each parent's income.
  • Full: one parent covers the whole expense.

Each expense's detail shows the split applied, for example “The creator pays 60%”.

See the balance

  • In Finances > Dashboard you can see who owes whom, or whether you're settled. The balance is free.
  • With Pro, the full dashboard adds payment punctuality, spending by category and the monthly trend.

Child support (maintenance)

  • Configure (Pro): choose the child, who receives, the monthly amount, the currency (ARS, USD, EUR, MXN, COP, CLP or PEN), the due day, the start date and reminders.
  • Monthly installments are generated automatically.
  • Register payment (Pro): amount, payment method, receipt number and up to 5 receipts as photos or PDFs.
  • The receiving parent taps Confirm receipt. Confirming is always free.
  • If you disagree, Open dispute (Pro) lets you discuss it with photos and record the resolution.

Tips for clear agreements

  • Agree in writing on which expenses you share and in what proportion.
  • Before a large expense, raise it in a conversation in the Expenses category.
  • Attach receipts (Pro) to avoid doubts.
  • Review the balance once a month.
  • Profile > Reports has a financial report by period; exporting it to PDF is a Pro feature.
